Interesting facts:  The Knob-Kerrie as it is known in African (Zulu) terms is a club that is part of the African shield and used as a protective weapon when on attack.  The name ‘knobkierrie’ derives from the Afrikaans word ‘knop’, meaning ball or knot and the word ‘kierrie’, meaning cane or walking stick.
